Two Lee’s Summit military officers will scale to the tip of Habaneros restaurant, 1008 S.E. Blue Parkway, at 10 a.m. Jan. 19 and won’t advance down until they attain their Special Olympics fundraising objective of $4,000 to $5,000.On a day when temperatures are approaching to plunge back next freezing, Sgt. Brian Wilson and Officer Jeremy Brownlee will be obscure a bucket from the tip of the grill and then literally raising donations is to second annual Cops on Top benefit.

Cops on Top will be the second of 4 fundraising events that the Lee’s Summit Police Department is conducting on interest of Special Olympics this month. The events, that bring on the department’s convention of ancillary Special Olympians in the area, are being conducted in conjunction with the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.

The Torch Run is a yearlong law-enforcement first move written to elevate allowance and recognition for Special Olympics and its athletes. All allowance lifted in the Kansas City area goes right away to encouragement Special Olympians from the civil area.
